I refer to Joshua Sim's forum letter "Posters exploit stereotypes" (Campus Observer, Oct 29, 2006). I feel that the writer's disappointment and discontentment with the article is misplaced. The whole essence of the campaign is also forgotten due to the flak drawn towards the controversial posters. |

We refer to the commentary “Posters too cre-AIDS-ive”, by Mr Dennis Nilsson (Campus Observer, 27 Oct 06). The author mentioned that HPB had declined comment on the issue of abstinence when he contacted HPB. |

I am writing in response to your article on Distasteful posters turn students off by Amanda Zhang. I feel that the article did not address the central issue of these posters. In my opinion, the posters are more than distasteful, as Mike Lim have noted, “The posters exploit stereotypes. Not everyone contracts aids through the scenarios portrayed in the posters". |
