It had to go right down to the wire, but Eusoff Hall managed to emerge as the new Inter-Hall Games 07/08 champion.
They were crowned overall winners on Feb. 22 after fending off a strong challenge by defending champions Temasek Hall in the final event of the season.
The track and field event was Temasek Hall’s last chance to catch up with the leader but they could only amass a disappointing eight points, as compared to Eusoff Hall’s nine. |

Reaching the summit of the world’s highest mountain this March would not be the only challenge for the six-member Singapore Women’s Everest Team.
They are also in a race against time to raise $500,000 by February this year or else cut down on the number of climbers going for the expedition.
A smaller team would mean a slimmer chance of reaching the 8,850-metre Mt. Everest summit.
Youngest member and SWET leader, Jane Lee, said, “We are working on a very tight time-line because we hope to raise the funds by mid-February.” |

A total of 390 student athletes were awarded for their achievements at the annual teamNUS Sports Awards Ceremony 2006-2007, held at National University of Singapore’s University Cultural Centre.
Now in its third year, the annual event aimed to recognize students’ achievements in co-curricular activities as well as their studies, said guest of honour Tan Eng Chye.
“Recently, the university spent over $3.5 million to upgrade our sports facilities and replace a number of sports equipment,” he said. “There are even plans to build additional sports facilities over at the new campus, ‘at Warren.’ ”
Luke Cheong, a recent graduate and a recipient of both the honorary award and team merit award for rugby, said the sports awards were “great” because they recognized “the efforts, contributions and sacrifices these people have put in." |
